Gorey + Dracula

Edward Gorey designed the sets for the stage play Dracula with Frank Langella. It was released as a cut out play theatre. A very nice little thing.

On Youtube you can see a short animated film using these. A guy called Matt made it. Good work!

A lot of gore(y)

Finally! The latest and last(?) collection of Edward Gorey wierdness is out! Read what the great Gorey site Goreyography writes about the book: Amphigorey Again.

I have just placed an order for a copy together with a copy of War of the Worlds illustrated by Gorey.

Happy new year!

By the way, Happy New Year! This is the year when everything will happend! Two childrens books, a comicstrip and hopefully another MiscatoniCon!

Skull

Another month has passed and Xmas i closing in.

I'm hard at work with two childrensbooks. There will be a lot of monsters in january when I will start to work on "The monster planet".

I got a nice A5 Wacom tablet last week. I'm starting to get the hang of it now. Here is a skull I did today.

Monstershop

Once again I fail to update my blog more than once a month...

I have started a small shop with some of my monster designs. It is based in Sweden so I don't know if it ships abroad. I have a small Cafépress shop that ships in the US. I will extend that further down the line.

And now for the Swedes:
Jag har startat en liten affär med tröjtryck. Där finns det vampyrer, varulvar och annat mysigt. Titta gärna in och handla en tröja eller två. Snart är det jul...

Illustration Friday - Quiet

My first submission to the weekly illustration exhibition.
An old picture but I don't have the time right now (workworkworkwork).

Topic: Quiet (or mayby "Too quiet").

Long time, no blogging

It has soon been a whole year since I posted anything here....

That has to change.
Here is the latest illustrations I made for the Swedish horror magazine Minotauren. It is LeFanus The White Cat.

MiskatoniCon done!

This past weekend we pulled off something fantastic. A Lovecraft convention! Three days of films, lectures, a nice artshow and a Lovcraftian musical!

MiskatoniCon is the first swedish Lovecraft Con ever and it went well. H.P. Lovecraft Historical Soceity helped us with alot. They showed and talked about their new film The Call of Cthulhu (it is amazing!). They wrote a LARP for us and the musical we played; A Shoggoth on the Roof is theirs as well. Thanks Sean and Andrew!

Many thanks to all the visitors and welcome back next year!

Kong is back!

On the latest of the incredible production diaries for Peter Jackson's King Kong you get to meet the original King Kong! Monster man extraordinaire Bob Burns has travelled to New Zeeland with his King Kong armature! The original puppet used to animate the big ape in the 1933 King Kong. Go check it out!

You find this production diary (Post Production Diary - 8 Weeks To Go) and all the other at: Kong is king

I just can't wait till the movie is out in december. Maybe I'll see the original to night again...

Free Lovecraft comic

The people behind the online Lovecraft game Arkham happenings: Spiders in the nightArkham by night has released a comic book! Lovecraft Country: Return to Arkham.
You can download it for free or by a printed copy from their Café Press site. Very nice!
You can read more about it here.
